SIGNIFICANCE
Chronic pain is a significant public health concern. According to NIH, chronic pain affects over 400 million Americans annually. Myofascial Pain Syndorme (MPS) also known as Chronic Myofascial Points (CMP), is a syndrome characterized by chronic pain in multiple trigger points("knots) and fascial restriction.
WHAT WE DO
GDTI are innovators for therapeutic apparatus and medical devices. Our focus is in idea creating new product ideas to address chronic pain. We propose to develop a new technology that treats chronic myofascial pain in America. A device that will efficiently and reliably isolate an treat myofascial trigger points using an innovative patent pending technology to simulate ischemic compression by a healthcare provider. This novel technology device will provide a cost effective and easy to use method in an apparatus for trigger point therapy. Such a device will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare practitioner while protecting the practitioner from self sustaining injuries, decrease healing times and improved treatment outcomes in patients. The NTD 1000 device will satisfy a need for both patient and practitioner.
